Elaine Jenkins Announced as Liverpool Design Festival Exhibitor

Liverpool Design Festival today announced via Twitter that the first profiles of this years exhibitors are now up on their website (click here). The Women's Organisation were delighted to see Elaine Jenkins Jewellery amongst them.

Since setting up her business with support from The Women's Organisation and Stepclever Elaine has grown the reputation of her business greatly and is now a member of Merseyside jewellers and metal artist network, Manchester jewellers network and the guild of jewellers.

Design graduate Elaine said "Ever since I was a child I have been obsessed with making things and figuring out how things work, how they were put together. I was inquisitive, always getting in to everything. I often went to north Wales, particularly Anglesey and was surrounded by nature which is my main source of inspiration. My work is based around the human form, its shape, the way it grows and it moves. These aspects are crossed over with my love of nature, focusing on texture and contrasting materials."

Elaine Jenkins Jewellery is handcrafted predominately from silver with 18ct gold, gold platting and diamonds. Her designs are currently stocked in Sara Preisler Gallery Birmingham, Joanne Harmer Gallery Kent and Gwyneth and Grey Guernsy. You can check out Elaine's jewellery and background at www.elainejenkins.co.uk

With the struggling economy in the UK Bootle resident Elaine has decided to keep ahead of the game and is in the process of opening a second branch to her business which will be called 'Adorable Little Button Company' retailing vintage and vintage style jewellery. Elaine can be found selling these affordable fashion accessories at LEAF Cafe on Bold Street every last Sunday of the month with Pillbox Vintage.

Elaine will be launching a new collection of her own pieces at Liverpool Design Festival will take place from Thursday 6th-Sunday 9th October and will feature works by top local designer makers.
