On Friday 10th May 2013 from 7pm, Liverpool is Reclaiming the Night!
Reclaim the Night Liverpool is a self-defining women-only march against sexual violence and for gender equality, campaigning for an end to violence against women, challenging street harassment and ending rape culture.
The meeting point for the march is outside the Town Hall at 7pm and will then lead up through town to Maryland Street, for a rally in John Moores Students’ Union. For the full march route you can click here.
The first ¾ of the march will be for women only, with the final part being open to anyone who wishes to take part. The ‘ally point’ (for those who are not self-defining women but who wish to march with us) will be at the Bombed Out Church – please arrive by 7:20pm.
Once the march has ended there will be a rally in John Moores Students’ Union, with a broad range of speakers, poets and comedians, and all followed by a (feminist) disco!
The rally and disco is open to all but children must be supervised at all times!
There are two banner making sessions the first will take place 1st May at Liverpool Guild of Students building in 5 Abercromby Square and the second on 8th May in Liverpool SU Haigh Building. Check RTN Liverpool for more details.
There is a working group meeting on 24th April at 5pm in LEAF cafe, you're all more than welcome to come along to!
