'Getting Back Into Practice' - Event with Unit 3 at Baltic Creative
The Women's Organisation will be attending Unit3's Session on 'Getting Back Into Practice' over at Baltic Creative on 22nd April 2015, 4pm -6pm.
The Event is part of a series that is being run throughout 2015 aimed at architect and design professionals helping give them insight into the industry and make connections. This event in particular is aimed at those professionals who have had 'time out' and are ready to return. It will cover: Freelancing and Self Employment, reclaiming your confidence, maintaining your industry standards, making connections, plus real insight from the professionals who are doing it.
Also attending the event will be Robyn Dooley who is currently making waves with her new business venture Innovators Hub. Robyn will be scouting for talent for her evolving network of innovators.
This event is open to both men and women and would be perfect for anyone who has a break due to illness, care responsibilities, travelling and wants to take that first step back into industry.
Here is some further details on the sessions from Unit3:
'Every month between February and December 2015, unit3 design studio will be hosting a series of two-hour long sessions at the Baltic Creative Campus in Liverpool. Each session will be a relaxed informal environment where a specific topic or subject relating to careers in architecture and design will be discussed; such as working in practice, finding employment and developing portfolio / CV skills.
We will provide a unique opportunity for people to come into a creative workplace and gain valuable key knowledge, lessons learnt and advice from those that have already been through the process! Sessions are not formal lectures or workshops; instead we will provide short, informative presentations, discussions with guest expert speakers with the opportunity for plenty of Q&A’s.
Sessions are aimed predominantly at both existing students of architecture as well as those thinking of careers in architecture (including GCSE and A-Level students), although everyone with an interest is welcome to come along and join us.
Sessions conclude at 6pm, and for anyone wishing to carry on the discussion with staff and attendees afterwards, there is an informal networking opportunity across the road in Camp & Furnace.
Sessions are hosted by unit3 design studio and supported by a number of different companies and organisations – some of whom will be at the events and provide attendees with information, ideas and advice.'
