The Women’s Organisation’s ‘Change It‘ team have hosted a number of coffee mornings this week to meet with women and staff from support agencies across Liverpool, getting ready for the first round of the personal development programme to start next week.
Over the next 8 weeks women from across Liverpool will come together in groups to start thinking about what and how they can change their lives.
In Children’s Centre’s, our team have held coffee mornings and engagement sessions with staff to tell the women about what they can expect over the coming weeks, and it’s fair to say that everyone is raring to go!
Alison Blackhurst will be delivering in Children’s Centre’s in Speke and Picton starting next week. She held a coffee morning this week in Speke:
‘It was great to get to know the women and introduce myself to them. Throughout the morning we chatted (and had tea and cake!_) about what they hoped to gain from the course and I explained what they could expect.
There was so much positivity in the room, with one of the women, saying “I am so excited to get started” and “this has come just at the right time for me” Some of the women were at different stages in their lives, considering volunteering roles, others thinking about employment, and some wanting to develop personally and make a change..’
Jenny Wallwork will be delivering in Everton Children’s Centre and 54 St James Street and said ‘it’s been wonderful to meet so many women who are looking to make a positive change in their life. I managed to engage with lots women, from all walks of life, there is a real vibrant buzz about the programme’.
Mandy Meaghan will deliver sessions out at Stoneycroft and Granby Children’s Centres where there are already over 20 women ready to get started and change their lives.
It’s looking likely that this first round of ‘Change It’ will be fully subscribed, but do get in touch if you would like to find out more about the programme as the second round will follow very soon.
